It is easy to take for granted how good life is when things are going well. After the devastating earthquake in Haiti, the realization of how fast life could change became more evident to many, including myself. The devastation the earthquake caused struck close to home for me. I have lived in Southern California all my life and have experienced numerous earthquakes firsthand. I thought of the children and how frightened they must have felt and feel. Days after the quake, I was left wondering what could I do to help.

For several months, we had been contemplating launching a new line of blankets. More than ever, after the Haiti earthquake, I realized I wanted to launch a new line of blankets with a special mission. So we decided to fast forward the launch of our blanket line and emerge it as a charity project. That is when the idea of “Blankies with a Cause” came to mind. Our blanket line will focus on charity by helping underprivileged children like the orphans of Haiti.

We will be offering an opportunity for you to be part of “Blankies With a Cause”. That is, for every blanket that is purchased within our line, Blooming Bods will donate a limited edition oversized Fleece blanket/throw with an appliqué heart to an orphan in Haiti. We have pledged to send blankets to God’s Littlest Angels, which is an orphanage in Haiti with headquarters in Colorado.

Blooming Bods is committed to helping the children of Haiti. Our tag line “Nurture them, watch them bloom” is something we strongly believe in. There is something very nurturing about a blanket that can comfort a child. We do understand that there are many ways you can help. However, a blanket goes beyond a monetary donation. It is a nurturing gift to a child that can cover a child with love even miles away!
